Important to know

The TOOLBUS Interface for Corporate Modeler and CA ERwin Data Modeler enables the import of Logical Data Models from CA ERwin into Entity – Relationship Models for Corporate M odeler, and the export of Entity – Relationship Models from Corporate Modeler into Logical Data Models for CA ERwin. Entities, Relationships, Entity Subtypes, Attributes, Keys, Domains and Validation Rules (Discrete Values) are migrated with their properties and textual descriptions in both directions. The layout of the ERwin Subject Areas is maintain ed in the Entity – Relationship Diagrams which are generated for Corporate Modeler, and the layout of Entity – Relationship Diagrams from Corporate Modeler is maint aine d in the CA ERwin Subject Areas. User Defined Properties: The TOOLBUS interface supports the migration of User Defined Properties (UDPs) from CA ERwin Data Modeler to User Defined Properties for Corporate Modeler, and vice versa.

Conversion Process

In order t o import Logical Data Models from CA ERwin Data Modeler into Corporate Modeler, the ERwin model must be saved as a XML file in CA ERwin. From the CA ERwin XML file a XML import file is generated for Corporate Modeler. In order t o export Entit y – Relationship Models from Corporate Modeler to CA ERwin, the Entity – Relationship Models must be saved as a X ML file. From the Corporate Modeler XML export file a XML import file is generated for CA ERwin Data Modeler.

The TOOLBUS Interface fo r Corporate Modeler and CA E Rwin requires Windows XP /Vista /7. It supports Corporate Modeler 10. 0 to 20 11. 3, and CA ERwin Data Modeler 3.5.2, 4.0 to 4. 1.4, and 7.0 to 9.0.
