The TOOLBUS Interface for CA ERwin Data Modeler and ER/Studio Data Architect enables the import of Logical and Physical Data Models from ERwin in to ER/Studio Da ta Architect, and vice versa: • Logical Data Models (Entities, Attributes, Relations hips, Domains ) can be imported from CA ERwin in to ER/Studio Data Architect, and vice versa. • Physical Models (Databases, Tables, Columns, Indexes, etc.) can be imported from CA ERwin into ER/Studio Data Architect, and vice versa. • The map s between logical and physical objects are maintained. • The diagrams for logical and physical m odels are reproduced to a high degree (including background colors of Entities).
Conversion Process
To import a model from CA ERwin Data Modeler into ER/Studio Data Architect, the TOOLBUS Interface generates an ER/Studio Data Architect DM1 file from both an ERwin.xml or.erwin file. To import a model from ER/Studio Data Architect into CA ERwin Dat a Modeler, the TOOLBUS Interface generates a XML file for CA ERwin Data Modeler from an ER/Studio Data Architect DM1 file.
