The TOOLBUS interface for CA ERwin Data Modeler and IBM Rational S ystem A rchitect enables the migrat i on of Logical and Physical Data Models from System Architect to CA ERwin to, and vice versa. The layout of the Entity Relation and Physical Data Model Diagrams from System Architect is maintained in the Logical and Physical S ubject Areas Displays in CA ERwin, and vice versa.

Conversion Process

Conversion Process: In order t o convert data models from System Architect to CA ERwin, t he System Architect Encyclopedia is exported by the API functions of System Architect. Then a model transformation is performed, and a XML import file for CA ERwin Data Modeler is generated. In order to convert Logical and Physical Data Model s from CA ERwin Data Modeler to IBM Rational System Architect, the TOOLBUS Interface parses the ER win model files (.erwin,.er1,.XML, or.ERX files), or ERwin models stored in an ERwin Model Manager database (ModelMart). Then a model transformation is performed, and the target System Architect Encyclopedia is loaded or updated using the API functions of System Architect.

Platform : The TOOLBUS Interface for the CA ERwin and System Architect requires Microsoft Windows 2000 / XP /Vista /7. The TOOLBUS interface supports CA ERwin Data Modeler 4. x, 7. x, 8.0 and 8. 1, and IBM Rational System Architect 9.x, 10.x and 11.x.
