Important to know

The TOOLBUS Interface for Corporate Modeler and Oracle Designer en ables the import of Entity – Relationship Data Models, Function Hierarchies and Data Usages from Oracle Designer into Co rporate Modeler, and vice versa: • Entities, Relationships, Entity Subtypes, Attributes, Identifiers (Keys), Domains, Allowable Values (Disc rete Values), Business Functions (Processes) and Data Usages (CRUD Information) are migrated with their properties and textual descriptions, and vice versa.
+ Entity – Relationship Data Models are imported from Oracle Designer into Corporate Modeler, and a def ault position is assigned for the Entities contained in the diagram. Remark: The layout of Entity – Relationship Data Models in Designer can not be reproduced, as this is not accessible in Oracle Designer. The import of Entity – Relationship Diagrams from Cor porate Modeler into Oracle Designer is also not feasible, as Diagrams are not supported by the API functions provided by Oracle Designer.
+ Process Hierarchy Diagrams are imported from Oracle Designer into Corporate Modeler, and vice versa. User Defined Pro perties: The TOOLBUS interface supports the migration of User Defined Properties (UDPs) from Oracle Designer to Corporate Modeler. User Defined Property Definitions for Corporate Modeler are generated automatically.

Conversion Process

Migration Process: In order t o migrate a model from Oracle Designer to Corporate Modeler, an Application System is exported from Oracle Designer by the TOOLBUS export program into a n internal TOOLBUS file. From the TOOLBUS file a XML file is generated, which can be imported into Corporate Model er. In order t o migrate a model from Corporate Modeler to Oracle Designer, the model must be saved as a XML file, which is converted to a n internal TOOLBUS file. From the TOOLBUS file, an Application System is loaded, or an existing Application System is updated using the API functions of Oracle Designer.

Platform: The TOOLBUS Interface for Corporate Modeler and Oracle Designer requires Windows 2000/ XP /Vista / 7. It supports Corporate Modeler 9. 0 to 20 11. 1, and Oracle Designer versions 6i to 10g.
