The TOOLBUS TM : Sybase ® PowerDesigner ® CDM File Exporter for Rational ® Software Modeler enables the export of UML Class Diagrams fr om IBM Rational Software Modeler (RSM), Rational Software Architect (RSA) and Rational Systems Developer (RSD) to a CDM File for PowerDesigner, where the UML Class Diagram s have been converted to Conceptual Data Models. UML Packages, Classes, Associations, Attributes and Notes from RSM/RSA/RSD are converted to Packages, Entities, Relationships, Attributes and Notes for PowerDesigner CDM with their properties and documentation. The layout of the UML Class Diagrams from RSM, RSA and RSD is maintained for the Data Models in PowerDesigner CDM.
User Defined Properties: The TOOLBUS M: Sybase PowerDesigner CDM File Exporter for Rational Software Modeler supports the migration of Stereotype Attributes defined in RSM/RSA/RSD Profiles and of UML attributes without matching attributes in the CDM to Extended Attributes in PowerDesigner, and XEM files for Extended Model Definitions can be created automatically.

Conversion Process

The Sybase PowerDesigner CDM File Exporter for Rational Software Modeler uses the Eclipse Modeling Framewor k (EMF) to export UML Class Diagrams from Rational Software Modeler, Rational Software Architect and Rational Systems Developer, and it generates CDM import files for PowerDesigner.
