The ARIS XML File Importer for Rational Software Architect enables the import of UML Diagrams from ARIS Business Architect and ARIS UML Designer i nto UML Models in IBM Rational Software Architect (RSA), Software Modeler (RSM), and Systems Developer RSD). UML Diagrams imported from ARIS:

+ UML Class Diagrams
+ UML Collaboration Diagrams (UML Communication Diagrams)
+ UML Component Diagrams
+ UML Sequence Diagrams
+ UML State Chart Diagrams (UML State Machine Diagrams)
+ UML Use Case Diagrams In addition, extended Event – Process Chains (eEPC) from ARI S Business Architect can be converted to UML Activity Diagrams for RS A, RS M and RSD.

Conversion Process

The TOOLBUS Importer parses XML export files from ARIS (AML files), and it uses the Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF) to create UML models in RS A /RS M /RSD.

The ARIS Toolset XML File Importer for Rational Software Architect requires Microsoft Windows 2000/XP /Vista /7. The TOOLBUS interface supports ARIS Business Architect and ARIS UML Designer versions 7.0 and 7. 1, and IBM Rational Software A rchitect (RSA), Rational Software Modeler (RSM) and Rational Systems Developer (RSD) version s 7.0, 7.5 and 8.0.
