Important to know

The TOOLBUS Interface for COOL:Biz and System Architect enables the migration of Data and Process Models from COOL:Biz to System Architect. The TOOLBUS interface supports the migration of these Diagram Types:
+ Entity-Relationship Diagrams
+ Database Schemas
+ Process Decomposition Diagrams
+ Data Flow Diagrams (migrated to Gane Sarson Data Flows in System Architect)
+ Workflow Diagrams (migrated to IDEF0 or IDEF3 models in System Architect) Remark: The TOOLBUS Interface could be ex tended to migrate additional COOL:Biz Diagram Types to System Architect.

Conversion Process

To migrate models from COOL:Biz to System Architect the model is exported to a BML export file. The BML export file is converted to a standard interface file called “TOOLBUS”. Then a model transformation is done based on the TOOLBUS file to compensate the differences of the information models of C OOL:Biz and System Architect, and a modified TOOLBUS file is generated. The TOOLBUS in terface programs update the target System Architect Encyclopedia by the API functions of System Architect, using the modified TOOLBUS file as input.

Platform

The TOOLBUS Interface for COOL:Biz and System Architect requires Windows NT/2000/XP. It supports COOL:Biz Versions 4. 0, 4.1, 5.0 and 5.1, and System Architect Versions 8.8, 9.x and 10.x.
